Nadia is a sophomore in the National University of Singapore, majoring in both Malay Studies and Social Work. She has an intrinsic flair in poetics and linguistics and is a closet techgeek. She enjoys volunteer work and is a strong propagator of blood and organ donation; a strategy that puts her so many steps closer to her ultimate ambition of saving the world. Meanwhile, she looks forward to joining the teaching force, and moulding the future of the nation. She is also an enthusiastic Singaporean and she knows how to play the National Anthem in 5 different musical instruments. Nadia loves being around people and cannot fathom the thought of being alone and lonely. She has a perverse curiosity of finding out if she can stop a moving MRT train with her bare hands and she loves catching a bus in her stilletos.
By 20 years of age, she is convinced that every experience in life is a lesson meant to be learnt from, and that one should not look back on mistakes, but should rise from every pitfall, wiser. In fact, she abides by the motto to not live off praises, not crumble of criticisms. She takes pride in her work, and puts her best in whatever she does, as she believes in representing herself in her work and craft. She expects people to also put in their best in whatever they do and cannot tolerate shoddy, ineffective work. Nadia acknowledges that everyone have their place in different areas and stages of life and have roles to fulfill, dreams to draw, vision to realize, and shoes to fill.
As a leader, she believes in taking care of her subordinates and allowing as well as creating for them spaces and opportunities to learn, develop and grow. Along with that, she takes ownership of the organizationa and promises to take it to greater heights and broader spectrums. She shares the same concern, interests and passion with the organization: in being a catalysts for change and development in the Malay language and community, and of being impactful as well as effective.
