Youth Entrepreneurship Camp and its Objectives
Youth Entrepreneurship Camp is an initiative that aims to help youths from low income families to effectively learn entrepreneurship skills. This camp also targets to collect funds for their families. Based on the concept of “you reap what you sow”, these youths would be setting up a mini business for a bazaar at the end of the camp. The collected funds would be divided amongst the participants, and groups that show great performance would also win attractive prizes.
The objectives of the camp are:
- to inculcate a positivist mindset towards entrepreneurship in the participants, in the economic downturn
- to provide a platform for those who want to help themselves
- to inculcate the spirit of teamwork in order to work towards similar objectives
- to tighten bonds between undergraduates and youths through a two-way interaction and interesting activities
- to introduce expert in entrepreneurship to the participants
- to give a sense of the real world to the participants, through making them apply what they have learnt to their businesses
